I have taught English and French in the CLE since 1997, and am passionate about promoting multilingualism through my teaching and also the organizing of activities in European and Asian languages. When not at home in Hong Kong with my family, I enjoy hiking and travelling around Asia, preferably on two wheels.

Professional Interests

Originally from the UK, I have taught languages in Europe, the Middle East, Southeast and East Asia. My research interests include multilingualism, self-access language learning, language planning and educational policy-making, and I regularly share my experience of teaching Chinese students at overseas conferences. I have been an external academic adviser (French) for Lingnan University and the CUHK SCS, subject specialist for the HKCAAVQ, principal examiner for the HKEAA DSE French oral examination, and volunteer with the Hong Kong Education Policy Concern Organization.
