
CHAN Ka Long Roy is a lecturer at Center for Language Education of the Hong Kong University of Science and technology. He obtained his Ph.D. (Applied English Linguistics) in the Chinese University of Hong Kong and his M.A. (International Language Education) in the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His research interests include World Englishes, Code-switching and Hong Kong English.
Professional Interests
My broad research interest are English phonetics and language attitude, particularly under the World Englishes context. I am interested in the phonetic and phonological features of Hong Kong English and the language attitude towards Hong Kong English. My recent research has focused on intelligibility of Hong Kong English and the language attitude of international listeners towards Hong Kong English.
