Attendance
In line with general University guidelines, The Center for Language Education’s official minimum attendance requirement for all LANG required courses is 80%.
If a student misses 6 or more classes in each semester, that student will fail the course and will have to retake the whole course.
Incremental warnings:
- After missing 3 classes (in total i.e. not consecutive), a warning letter will be sent to the student, copied to their department.
- After missing 6 lessons, the student fails the course. A letter will be sent to the student, their department and a notification to the ARRO.
Permission to take leave will be given only where prolonged absence is unavoidable, in cases where students have suffered serious illness or injury, on production of documentary evidence.
