Course Assessment
Students’ spoken English proficiency will be assessed based on:
- Topic development and coherence
- Vocabulary range and accuracy
- Grammar range and accuracy
- Pronunciation
Students should complete ALL of the following assessments:
- 15% – First speaking assessment: a videoed talk about the importance of your field of study
- 15% – Second speaking assessment: an impromptu talk to present views about a given topic
- 20% – Independent Learning Portfolio: submissions of a plan and records of out-of-class English learning that focus on target skills
- 50% – Final ELPA
