Reader's Workshop (New)


In Reader’s Workshop, we will read, explore and discuss literature, short stories, news articles, and other texts together.


This weekly 1.5 workshop will provide you with a chance to:

  1. Read independently and as a group
  2. Improve reading comprehension skills
  3. Expand awareness of a range of genres representing different periods and cultures
  4. Build your literacy and background knowledge
  5. Extend your vocabulary
  6. Foster critical thinking
  7. Engage in meaningful discussion to improve English fluency

Activities will include pre-reading discussion questions, vocabulary exploring, and background knowledge input, followed by time to read and post-reading comprehension check and discussion.

We hope to increase your enjoyment of reading and discussions!

Short stories will include classic and modern works from American or European authors (i.e.: Roald Dahl, Ray Bradbury, Shirley Jackson)

News articles are sourced from BBC News, The Guardian, TIME magazine, The Washington Post, and more.
