Intercultural Communication:
Small Talk is Not Small At All


Small talk is a good way to build relationships. Effective small talk helps businesses thrive and professionals excel, no matter whether it is at work, in class, or at a conference.

 

The activity aims at exploring the following issues with you:

  • How to introduce yourself and leave a good impression
  • How to start a conversation
  • How to listen actively and keep the conversation going
  • How to adapt the conversation topics for different contexts and culture

Eligibility All full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology are welcome.
HLTH1010 Course Hours Upon successful completion and satisfactory participation of the activity, you may be entitled to 1.5 HLTH1010 course hours under the “Wellness and Personal Enrichment” of the “Activities” module.
