Giving and Responding to Compliments
Complimenting is a tool for establishing and sustaining relationships. It functions as a conversation opener that allows meaningful social interaction to follow. Giving or responding to compliments inappropriately may result in embarrassment and even offence in intercultural context.
The activity aims at exploring the following issues with you:
- Complimenting in the English-speaking world
- How to give compliments appropriately
- How to respond to compliments strategically
- Cross-cultural complimenting
