TOEFL Preparation


The TOEFL Orientation course will familiarise you with the structure of the four sections of the test: reading, writing, listening and speaking. Effective techniques and strategies for the test will be examined. A direction for further self-access practice will also be provided. This workshop is designed for students who have no or minimal exposure to the test.

 

After completing the course, you are expected to:
  • demonstrate familiarity with the assessment format of the four sections of TOEFL, which include reading, listening, speaking and writing
  • identify the common types of questions of the test
  • demonstrate understanding of the assessment criteria by producing written work and spoken responses that address these assessment criteria
  • demonstrate familiarity with test-taking strategies for TOEFL and choose appropriate strategies in practice
