Professional Interests

Originally from the UK, I have taught languages in Europe, the Middle East, Southeast and East Asia. My research interests include multilingualism, self-access language learning, language planning and educational policy-making, and I regularly share my experience of teaching Chinese students at overseas conferences. I am the external academic adviser (French) for Lingnan University and the CUHK SCS, subject specialist for the HKCAAVQ, principal examiner for the HKEAA DSE French oral examination, and volunteer with the Hong Kong Education Policy Concern Organization. When not at home in Hong Kong with my family, I enjoy hiking and travelling around Asia, preferably on two wheels.
