German

German is spoken in Europe’s largest economy Germany and its neighbors Austria and Switzerland; speaking German gives you privileged access to producers of the highest quality and a culture that has had an immense influence on Western thought and values. The names Einstein, Planck, Heisenberg and von Humboldt testify to its impact on the world of science and technology, but many learn German to understand more about how this culture can also produce the world’s most consistently successful football team, its most profound writers and philosophers and finest composers of classical music.
