Spanish

Spanish is spoken in Europe and all across the American continent; the cultures of Spain and Latin America are a source of academic interest and popular fascination, from flamenco to salsa and from the architecture of Gaudí to the temples of the Incas. As one of the six official languages of the United Nations, Spanish may be the most useful world language to learn after English, since it gives you access not only to the more than 20 countries in the Western hemisphere where it is spoken, but also to Brazil where it is understood; the regional variations are minimal, and the reward for learning Spanish is an immediate understanding of a very different world view!
