Music CDs

There are only 3 music CDs available in the Language Commons at present, but the lyrics of some of the songs are available in the Language Commons or by searching for the first word in the title (ignore le/la/les) at http://www.math.umn.edu/~foursov/chansons/index.html.

• Edith Piaf – L’Immortelle
  24 hits by the “little sparrow”, the Parisian songbird and most famous female French singer of the 20th century. All her famous hits are here, and there is an accompanying set of lyrics for the songs. Recommended for music fans.

• The French Album
  The first “breakthrough” CD by the world famous French Canadian singer Celine Dion, being her first album in French to attract international interest. The original French title is “D’ Ici” or “From here” and it contains many of her best-loved songs.

• La nouvelle génération française
  A selection of 18 different vocalists each singing one of their hit singles. The accompanying booklet in French gives some background on the singers and their work.
