    • Audio cassettes
    • Transcripts
    • Vocabulearn
    • Cassettes
    • Vocabulearn
    • Glossary

Arranged in 2 box files, the materials of these 2 courses are a bit difficult to find your way around because they share the same name. The student’s book is divided into 12 “acts” with a strong story-line, and the supplementary materials include word cards for 4 of the “acts”, a video, 12 audio cassettes and the Name Game, a misnamed introduction to Castilian Spanish/English vocabulary similarities.

Basically an audio course, the 15 “study” and 15 “memory” audio cassettes are accompanied by a transcript book and booklet. Read the study guide and introduction in English carefully before starting. Other materials include a Latin American Spanish/English glossary to accompany the 2 Vocabulearn cassettes and a handy phrase card.

  • Linguaphone Spanish Course

    • Coursebook
    • Student handbook
    • Written exercises
    • Spoken exerises
    • Audio cassettes

The coursebook contains 30 units of dialogues in Castilian Spanish with vocabulary exercises, while the handbook explains each unit with grammar and vocabulary notes in English. Very traditional and thorough coverage, recommended for beginners who are looking for an understanding of written Spanish only.

  • Linguaphone Spanish Video

    • Student’s book
    • Video cassettes
    • Video User Guide
    • Audio cassettes

Use in conjunction with the video/audio cassettes. New vocabulary is pre-taught and the course prepares the learner for each new situation in English. Unlike the above 2 courses this can help you learn spoken Castilian Spanish too.
