Biography
Martin Eastwood, originally from Mansfield, United Kingdom, holds a BA (Hons) in English and Politics from the University of York and an MA TESOL from Lancaster University. He has worked in Hong Kong for nearly two decades, having taught at the Education University, City University, HKBU, and CUHK, before joining the Center for Language Education at HKUST in August 2022.
Over the course of his career, Martin has taught a diverse range of courses spanning English literature, academic English, business communication, mass media, and political science. At HKUST, his current work focuses on public speaking, with a particular interest in helping students develop confidence, rhetorical skill, and an authentic speaking voice.
His research interests include task-based instruction, student motivation, and the use of literature in language teaching.
