Student Partnerships
At the Centre for Language Education (CLE), students take an active role in shaping teaching and learning.
Through the CLE–Student Partnerships initiative, students work with instructors to co-develop course content, assessments, and AI-enhanced learning activities. Student perspectives on what works, what is challenging, and what feels relevant are combined with teaching expertise to improve courses and support materials.
CLE–Student Partnerships provide students with structured opportunities to engage in educational design and collaboration, and contribute to courses that future cohorts will benefit from.
Student Partnerships in Funded Projects
Some partnership roles develop into funded projects where students help design and produce teaching and learning resources. These roles give students hands-on experience in collaborative educational work and lead to outputs that are used in real courses and initiatives.
Digital Literacy Hub
The Digital Literacy Hub is a platform that showcases student-created multimodal work such as podcasts, infographics, and videos. Our student partners publish their own work, support peers as student consultants, and contribute to the development of the Hub and its website.
RubriX
RubriX is an AI-supported tool that enables students and instructors to work together on assessment criteria. Student partners from Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) contribute to the technical development of the underlying multi-agent system. Other student partners co-create assessment criteria in selected courses, compare drafts with exemplars, and reflect on AI use in writing and related tasks.
Student as Partners in Course and Materials Development
This initiative lets students help review and shape courses before they are delivered. Student partners look at learning outcomes, lesson materials, activities, assessments, and rubrics, then provide structured feedback to teaching teams.
This process has informed revisions to courses such as LANG2062, LANG2067, and LANG2069. The result is clearer, more transparent teaching and learning design that is better aligned with how students learn.
Student as Partners in CLE Events
Student partners support workshops, showcases, and other events by helping with logistics, communication, and participant engagement.
Through these roles, students contribute to community-building within CLE and across the wider student body. Students also build practical skills in teamwork, event support, and communication.

We welcome thoughtful, communicative students from all schools and backgrounds to join our partnership community. As a Student Partner, you can work with teachers on course and materials development while building skills in design, communication, and teamwork. Student Consultants receive recognition for their contributions, including a stipend and, where appropriate, a reference letter on request.
