A Bite of Urban China: When Food Speaks
A Bite of Urban China: When Food Speaks
Food is one of the most immediate yet culturally dense ways to understand a city. A Bite of Urban China invites students to explore Chinese cities—such as Shanghai, Changsha, and Chengdu—through their everyday food cultures. Rather than treating cuisine as a list of famous dishes, this workshop approaches food as a cultural text that reflects urban lifestyles, social values, emotional expression, and ways of speaking. (Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions or if you are allergic to any food.)
