LANG 1416Effective Chinese Communication 基礎中文傳意:口語與寫作
Course Description
Enhancing students’ professional competitiveness through tailored training in spoken Putonghua and Standard Written Chinese, LANG 1416 emphasizes the development and application of effective language skills and communication strategies in making oral presentations, participating in group discussions, and producing commentaries on current affairs.
The course is available in three streams. LANG 1416 C and P use Cantonese and Putonghua respectively as the medium of instruction, whereas 1416 I is mainly offered for students with Chinese proficiency lower than Chinese language background students but obviously higher than non-Chinese language background students. All three streams share the same course objectives, contents and assessment methods, and adopt Putonghua in assessment tasks.
