English courses for Pathway 2 for undergraduate students admitted in 2024-25 or after

Students must take LANG 1406 (3 credits) followed by one of the Advanced Communication courses (3 credits) under the English Communication group: 

• LANG 2063 (Writing for Workplace Success) or 

• LANG 2064 (Speaking for Workplace Success) or 

• LANG 2065 (Research Writing) 

In addition to the above requirements, students may take Advanced Communication courses: 

• as free electives or  

• to substitute for credits in 
  • the Cognitive Foundations of University Education: Critical Thinking and Data Literacy (CTDL) and  
  • the Undergraduate Experiential Opportunities Programs (UxOP) Common Core areas,  

after completing LANG 1406.

Students must take LANG 1407 (3 credits) followed by one of the Advanced Communication courses (3 credits) under the English Communication group:

• LANG 2063 (Writing for Workplace Success) or 

• LANG 2064 (Speaking for Workplace Success) or

In addition to the above requirements, students may take Advanced Communication courses: 

• as free electives or  

• to substitute for credits in 
  • the Cognitive Foundations of University Education: Critical Thinking and Data Literacy (CTDL) and

after completing LANG 1407.

Students on the OST program must also take LANG 3025 (3 credits). 

Students on the IRE program must also take LANG 3027 (3 credits).

• LANG 2065 (Research Writing) 

Students on the ISD program must also take LANG 4032 (3 credits). 

In addition to the above requirements, students may take extra Advanced Communication courses:

  • the Cognitive Foundations of University Education: Critical Thinking and Data Literacy (CTDL) and
  • the Undergraduate Experiential Opportunities Programs (UxOP) Common Core areas,

after completing LANG 1406 / LANG 1407 / LANG 1408 / LANG 1409.
