Critical Reading and Writing Skills with Generative AI

Project Description: In the age of GenAI, where artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced technologies shape our information landscape, the ability to critically read and write has become more important than ever. Throughout this 5-week Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), participants will build on their foundations of critical thinking, explore the challenges and opportunities presented by GenAI for critical reading and writing, and harness the power of GenAI tools to enhance leaners’ reading and writing abilities. The course is designed to help learners engage with information critically, evaluate arguments, detect biases, and communicate persuasively. Participants will will gain proficiency in utilizing GenAI tools for text analysis, summarization, and comprehension enhancement, while also considering ethical and responsible use of GenAI. By the end of the course, learners will have gained expertise in evaluating arguments and detecting biases and acquired the ability to critically review GenAI outputs. They will be better equipped to navigate the GenAI era with confidence, engaging in thoughtful analysis, and producing well-crafted written pieces. AI-assisted Virtual Reality English Speaking Program for Secondary Students

The present project aims to break the physical limitation of English speaking training for secondary students through the promotion of self-directed VR learning with AI feedback. Spoken communication is one of the key competencies for all students, but training and assessments of that have been seriously disrupted since 2019 for various unforeseeable reasons.

Learning League: A collaborative students leading students (SLS) programme enhancing secondary school students' English proficiency
