Cantonese chit-chat aims to equip Chinese/ non-Chinese background students with basic Cantonese expressions and help them navigate their journey on campus and outside of the classroom in Hong Kong. During the sessions, you will be exposed to authentic Cantonese expressions, where hands-on practices will be provided. Guided by a native Cantonese facilitator, you will:

  • Learn basic Cantonese words and expressions
  • Improve your Cantonese pronunciation
  • Develop an understanding of Hong Kong culture

Rules
  • Students must register at least 1 day in advance through the online registration system
  • Booking is limited to 2 Chit-Chat sessions per week
  • Students must use the online registration system to reschedule / cancel bookings, if necessary
  • Rescheduling & cancellation must be done at least 1 day before the registered session through the online registration system
  • Students who are late for 10 minutes or more will be regarded as no-shows
  • “No-show students” can still attend activities but are required to wait for 2 weeks before they can make further bookings on “Cantonese Chit-chat”
