KRN-002-001

13:30 - 15:00

Room 3316 (Lifts 17/18)

Is K-Pop Demon Hunters a "Korean" story? Let’s explore the heart of contemporary Korean culture and identity while learning some Korean words and expressions that have become common nouns or everyday expressions for people around the world. By watching the opening sequence—a crash course in Korea's pop culture history as well as Korean history—and other key scenes, we will talk about traditional motifs, share modern social commentaries, and uncover beloved K-drama clichés. This will lead to a critical discussion of cultural identity, examining the film through the lens of the global diaspora experience. Join us to move beyond passive viewing and learn how to actively decode the complex truths about history, society, and the globalized self that media reflects.
