What is the CLE GenAI Literacy Module and why was I invited?
This online self directed module will provide basic information about using generative AI (GenAI) tools to support your studies, with a specific focus on your CLE courses. It will guide you on using these innovative tools effectively and ethically in your studies and highlight some limitations and risks of using GenAI.
All students enrolled in a CLE course this semester are automatically enrolled and are expected to complete this module. This module is not assigned a letter grade and will not appear in any official HKUST transcript.
If you have completed the module in the previous semester then you do not need to take it this semester, please decline the invitation.
If you are NOT taking any CLE courses in this semester, please decline the invitation.
What do I need to do for this module? Are there any classes?
This is a self directed module on Canvas. Please read through all the information and go through the activities in order. There are no classes.
I was invited and accepted this course last semester, why am I invited again?
It may be the case that from our records, you accepted but not fully complete the module in terms of fully completing all the tasks or submitting blank answers.
If you have evidence of having completed the module and fully answered all the tasks then there is no need to do anything else and you can safely decline the invitation.
I accidently declined the invitation or I need to be resent the module invitation again, what should I do?
Please send an email to lcsupport@ust.hk to request for an invitation. Due to the high number of students, it may take several working days before you receive your invite again.
I completed this module in the previous semester, do I need to take it again?
No, there is no need to take the module again. If you have been invited, please decline the invitation.
What do you mean by “completing the module”?
Completion of the module means that you have read through all the information and submitted answers to all the questions in the module.
I accidentally accepted the module or I no longer need to take the module as I am not taking any CLE courses any more, what should I do?
If you do not need to take the module then you can safely ignore the module and you do not have to do anything else.
